Hello Raven is an interactive reading tutor based on the Milan Method developed by dyslexia specialist Jane Milan. The program is currently available to invited families.
Hello Raven helps children develop phonemic awareness (the ability to recognize and work with the sounds in spoken language), the skill they need to become confident readers. Without phonemic awareness, reading can become a guessing game rather than a decoding skill.
Hello Raven starts at the beginning, teaching your child to identify and produce individual sounds using sound cards. Your child then learns to blend sounds to read words and break words into individual sounds to spell them.
By the end of the program, your child will be able to read and spell multisyllabic words using sound cards and will be prepared to begin a structured, letter-based reading program.
Each daily session lasts approximately 15–20 minutes and combines structured instruction with playful games. Hello Raven listens, responds, and provides support when your child needs it.
Learning to read can be hard. Practicing it shouldn’t have to be.
